Casual Sister was formed at Central Saint Martins in London whilst studying a post graduate degree and is made up of fifteen Performance Makers.

As Performance Makers we come from various corners of the world; North America, France, Israel, Russia, Ecuador, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, England, Poland, Cyprus and Hong Kong. Using our practices and skills as set & costume designers, sound designer, architects, writers, painters, choreographers, directors, producer, film makers, make-up and fashion artists, musicians and performers to create explorative time based work.

‘Olas’ (Waves)
A multi media theatre performance:
Looking into both the changing tides of migration, climate, nature, politics, economics, identity and the constants of family and love. Drawing a parallel of life in sleepy small towns, the desires and dreams of the people. Crossing Andalucian culture, surrealism and Flamenco with Welsh poetic text of Dylan Thomas ‘Under Milk Wood’.
By interweaving live performance with video, recorded sound, live music and spoken word to create an internal and external world that crosses time for the audiences.
As part of the artistic residency touring ‘Olas’ from Teatro Municipal Juan Bernabe, Lebrija to Sala Paul Espacio Joven, Jerez Andalucia, Spain in April – May 2014.
Supported by Central St Martins College of Art and Design | Erasmus | Ayuntamiento de Jerez | Ayuntamiento de Lebrija | El Centro Civico Blas Infante | Teatro Estudio Lebrijano

‘Me Oyo..’
An exhibition designed by two performance makers about the body, space and nature. Returning to collaborate with local artists in a gallery in Jerez de la Frontera, August 2014.

“Me oyo en el meollo”
