Children of the Wild is an ensemble of North American artists, culminating our residence at Double Edge Theatre in Ashfield, MA this Spring 2016. While here we have been developing into a traveling theatre ensemble performing The Wastelands, an original post-apocalyptic opera. Children of the Wild is preparing to travel The Wastelands to communities along the Great Lakes from Buffalo, NY to Minneapolis, MN this May – October 2016. A reimagining of Dante’s Purgatorio, The Wastelands gives space for us to engage with a revolutionary process of healing, collectively and individually, by confronting our cultural and ecological grief in a truly visceral way.

Our mission as an ensemble is to make original works of theatre and film that further the rewilding of industrial spaces and the human spirit as part of a common struggle for social and environmental justice.

We believe the systems we live under are inherently self-destructive; so for the sake of our very survival, we seek to reimagine the ways we inhabit ourselves and this planet. We do this through a unique process of artistic development, community engagement, ecological thinking, and rigorous physical training.
